Hey lovers,
So I'm fucking crazy about SebastiAn. I've posted some of his shit a couple times before, and I've always raved about how the French producer has consistently rocked my balls so goddamn hard.
With this in mind, you can imagine how stoked I was for his first album, Total. It came out a few days ago and it's the loudest coolest sexiest noise since Sleigh Bells' Treats. Just look at that album art. He's making out with himself. Fuck yeah.
All in all, it's more than I could have asked for from SebastiAn. It's got guest vocals from both M.I.A. and Mayer Hawthorne (shit yeah). It's got old favorites like "Ross Ross Ross" and "Motor". You know how people say dubstep sounds like Transformers having sex? Well tracks like "Fried" actually sound like Transformers getting up in each other.
Holy shit. At right around 1:20, I black out from awesome overload.
While every track on here sounds loud and filthy enough to scare all the old people for miles, it's miraculous how much of a headphones record this can be. I love how well tracks like "Jack Wire" work at kicking in the door and rocking everyone's face off when they work just as well melting the inside of your skull through headphones.
At over twenty tracks, it's a huge swath of loudness to take on. It will wear you out if you're not on a bunch of speed. So I recommend taking it in chunks. The genius of tracks like "Ross Ross Ross" can get lost in the noise if you're not careful.
Imagine a new Daft Punk record, only this time the robots have been infected with a virus that makes them crank out kinda-glitchy, immensely loud, mind-numbingly awesome bangers that make you feel dirty in the good way.
This song sounds like it's going crawl out of my speakers and murder me. And I love it.
